Who we are

Brooklyn Incubator is an independent investment firm that provides early stage funding in support of great ideas. We partner with those entrepreneurs with the vision, energy and experience to build great companies. We do not have a particular sector or geographic focus, our approach is to identify extraordinary talent and provide funding and assistance to help develop strong business plans into successful companies.

Brooklyn Incubator also provides advisory services to investors, asset managers and companies leveraging the firm’s broad investment experience and global contacts. Advisory services include transaction advisory (e.g. company, industry and management due diligence), financial advisory (e.g. fundraising support), and portfolio investment monitoring and board of directors representation with a particular focus on emerging markets and real estate.

Brooklyn Incubator was founded by Hernan Romero van Gompel, an investor with over a decade of experience investing in multiple asset classes, including private equity, real estate and public equities markets across industries and geographies. Hernan’s private equity experience includes investment professional roles at JPMorgan Partners in New York and London and at Linzor Capital Partners with a focus on Latin America. On the public equities side, Hernan spent three years at Altima Partners, a global hedge fund based in New York City and London.
